Removal of methylene blue from aqueous solution by montmorillonite/CoFe2O4 composite with magnetic separation performance
Abstract
The montmorillonite/CoFe2O4 composite as a novel adsorbent with the magnetic separation performance was prepared by a facile, one-step low-temperature refluxing route. The structure, morphology and magnetic properties of the synthesized composite were characterized by powder X-ray diffractometer (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). Adsorption characteristics of the composite were examined by using methylene blue (MB) as an adsorbate. The effects of solution pH, dye concentration, contact time and temperature on the MB adsorption onto the composite were investigated. The results showed that the adsorption isotherm data were fitted well to the Langmuir isotherm. Adsorption kinetics of MB onto the composite followed the pseudo-second-order kinetic model. The thermodynamic parameters, such as ΔG0 , ΔH0 and ΔS0, were also determined and evaluated. Moreover, the composite adsorbent had high magnetic sensitivity under an external magnetic field, which allowed its magnetic separation from water avoiding the secondary pollution.

چکیده
ترکیب مونتموریلونیت /CoFe2O4 به عنوان یک جاذب جدید با عملکرد جداسازی مغناطیسی توسط یک روش آسان و یک مرحله ای در دمای پایین رفلاکس تهیه شده است. ساختار، مورفولوژی و خواص مغناطیسی ترکیبات ساخته شده توسط پراش پودر اشعه ایکس (XRD)، میکروسکوپ الکترونی روبشی (SEM) و مغناطیس سنج ارتعاشی نمونه (VSM) شناسایی شد. ویژگی های جذب سطحی ترکیب با استفاده از متیلن آبی (MB) به عنوان جاذب مورد بررسی قرار گرفت. اثرات pH محلول، غلظت رنگ، زمان تماس و دما بر جذب MB بر روی ترکیب مورد بررسی قرار گرفت. نتایج نشان داد که داده های ایزوترم جذب به خوبی به ایزوترم لانگمویر برازش داده شده است. جذب MB بر روی ترکیب از مدل سینتیک شبه مرتبه دوم پیروی میکند. پارامترهای ترمودینامیکی، مانند ΔG0، ΔH0 و ΔS0، نیز تعیین و مورد بررسی قرار گرفت. علاوه براین، ترکیب جاذب حساسیت مغناطیسی بالا تحت یک میدان مغناطیسی خارجی دارد، که اجازه جداسازی مغناطیسی آن از آب را میدهد که از آلودگی ثانویه ممانعت میکند.

DISCOURSE ANALYSIS OF THE WRITTEN ELECTORAL MATERIALS FROM THE 7th PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION IN IRAN

The term discourse analysis has come to be used with a wide range of meaning which cover a wide range of activities. There are many existing approaches to the study of language. One of them which this study is based upon, is critical discourse analysis (CDA). This approach grew out of work in different disciplines in the 1960s and early 1970s, including linguistics, semiotics, psychology, anthropology and sociology. CDA analyses social interactions in a way which focuses upon their linguistic elements, and which sets out to show up their generally hidden determinants in the system of social relationships, as well as hidden effects they may have upon that system. Since CDA is not a specific direction of research, it does not have a unitary theoretical framework. Therefore, in this research project, in order to overcome the potential weaknesses of any single method, a critical linguistic analysis will be adopted from some of the most influential linguists in the field to analyse the formal linguistic features of the written electoral materials from the 7th presidential election in Iran, to explain discourse structures in terms of properties of social interaction and especially social structure, and to focus on the ways discourse structures enact, conform, legitimate, reproduce or challenge relations of power and ideology in society.
